Art and more art every spring at Marianopolis
Did you know that any Marianopolis student in any area of study can take part in the College’s annual celebration of the arts? That’s right: every spring the College dedicates a good part of the month of April to ArtsFest. And every spring sees the participation and creativity of students who are studying in every program. This year, ArtsFest is bigger than ever. It started on April 11 with a talk by game writer and Young Adult novelist Jill Murray and it ends May 4.
In between those days, the entire campus is transformed into one big arts show, as every space becomes a showcase for the arts, from the Library, where a Living Library is taking place, to the Auditorium, where current and former students take part in the ArtsFest Concert. The school is full of with paintings and poems, arts café performances by students and teachers alike, as well as the College’s literary journal, a vernissage, installations, trailers of student-created films and more.
A Marianopolis tradition, ArtsFest is a joint initiative of the Liberal and Creative Arts and English departments. Free and open to the public, it’s another unique and wonderful thing that only happens at Marianopolis.
