Art for every student in May
Did you know that any Marianopolis student in any area of study can take part in the College’s annual celebration of the arts? That’s right: every spring Marianopolis dedicates a good part of the month of May to ArtsFest. And every spring sees the participation and creativity of students who are studying in every program: Science, Social Science, Arts and Sciences, Liberal Arts, Music and Arts, Literature and Communication.
A Marianopolis tradition, ArtsFest transforms the entire campus to one big arts show, as every space becomes a showcase for the arts, from the Library, where a communal Lego-building project is taking place this year, to the Auditorium, where current and former students took part in the ArtsFest Concert. For half a month, the school teems with paintings and poems, arts café performances by students and teachers alike, as well as theatre performances, the College’s literary journal, a vernissage, installations, trailers of student-created films and more.
A joint initiative of the Liberal and Creative Arts and English departments, ArtsFest is free and open to the public. It’s also something you will want to consider participating in if you attend the College in the fall, no matter what you are studying.
