Graduating Honours Health Science student Athanasios Mavrakanas will represent Canada at the European Physics Olympiad in Kutaisi, Georgia, next month.

Athanasios is one of just five students across the country selected for the national physics team. This marks the second consecutive year that a Marianopolis student has been chosen to represent Canada at an international physics competition. Athanasios earned his spot on the national team by finishing first overall in Quebec in the CAP / ACP Cegep Prize Exam.

In Kutaisi, Athanasios and his teammates will compete against 250 of the top physics students from more than 50 countries.

The Marianopolis community wishes Athanasios and the Canadian national team much success as they prepare to meet this challenge.
